Image # A58-399; I captured this image of the Ft. Fletcher Stone Arch Bridge near Walker, Kansas.  This bridge was built on the Smoky Hill Trail at the Fork of Big Creek in recognition of the “Old Ft. Hays” 1865-1867, and was named after Gov. Fletcher of Missouri.  The Old Ft. Hays 1867-89 as it is known today is on land donated by the Union Pacific Eastern Division Railroad.  Ft. Hays was named after Gen. Alexander Hays and is located on the south side of the City of Hays, Kansas.
