Image #'s A58-043, 116; I captured this picturesque image of the "The Roseman Covered Bridge"; built in1883 by H.P. Jones. This bridge spans the Middle River nine miles southwest of Winterset, Iowa. For many years this old bridge was known as the “Haunted Bridge”. This bridge was featured in Warner Bros. motion picture “The Bridges of Madison County” staring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. To enhance the image, I exposed it by using a purple gradient filter on the front of my lens. The main interior construction (right) of these bridges are quite impressive. I was once told that a wrecking crew tried dismantling a similar bridge to salvege the lumber, but soon gave up and used dynamite to finish the job at hand.
