Image # A58-149; Using a 500mm catadioptric lens, I captured this tight head and shoulder shot of a rhinoceroses while visiting the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. Rhino’s have very poor eyesight, but extremely well developed senses of hearing and smell. Rhino’s walk and run on their toes much like horses. In spite of their size, rhino’s are able to turn quickly and run fast – reaching speeds up to 35 mph.
