Image # A58-144; I captured this picturesque image of these hot air balloons during the Wichita, Kansas River Festival. Interest in this type of craft dates back to the 13th century. Although, the hot air balloon was not actually invented until the late 18th century; when two French brothers experimented with inverted paper and cloth bags filled with heated air in 1783.
