Images # A58-329a,b; I captured this image of a one-room school near Pleasant Grove, Kansas. The one-room schools were commonplace throughout rural portions of various countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Ireland in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In most country and small town schools, all of the students met in a single room. There, a single teacher taught academic basics from five to eight grade levels of elementary-age boys and girls. While in many areas one-room schools are no longer used, it is not uncommon for them to remain indeveloping nations and rural areas. The skyline of this original image was a very drab gray tone.  While using my image processor, I enhanced the skyline using a gradient coffee colored plug-in filter. I then used an antique filter to create the second image to the right.
