Image # A58-256; I captured this image of a spotted leopard while visiting the Rolling Hills Wildlife Refuge Park zoo located off I-70 west of Salina, Kansas. The leopard has the widest distribution of the wild cats, and shows great variation in appearance and behavior. In general, the coat color varies from pale yellow to deep gold; which is found to be the trend in coloration for leopards in Africa. Despite its relatively small body size, the leopard is still capable of taking large prey.
