Image #’s A58-112, 185, 385; I captured these images of flowers at the Wichita Botanical Gardens.  Pictured from left to right is the Gaillardia or Blanketflower which is a large flowering plant and often a combination of red and yellow.   This plant grows best in sunny situations having a well-drained soil.  The Livingstone Daisy which is sometimes called an Ice Plant thrives best in dry sandy soil in hot and sunny locations.  It produces daisy-like flowers in colors of Orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow.  The Gazania or Treasure Flower produces flowers in colors of Orange, pink, red, white, and yellow.  It grows well in rocky, hot, and dry areas.  The plant will tolerate poor, sandy soil.  Full sun is preferred and the flowers do not open on wet or cloudy days.
