Image # A58-226; An Irish immigrant and harness maker, John McInteer, became successful when many wagon trains headed west were outfitted in Atchison, Kansas.   He built the McInteer Villa in 1890.   The segmented gables, balconies and protuberances all are dominated by the bulging chimney tops looming over the roofs.   These elements are merely a few of the highlights of this enormous home.   Unfortunately, I was not able to capture any images from the interior of this home as it is a private residence.   However, my wife Judy says that this house looks rather spooky, as though the Adams family or The Munster’s could live here.
