Image # A58-413; I captured this picturesque image of St. Mary's Catholic Church while visiting in Ellis, Kansas; the church was built in 1911. This majestic structure is fashioned in the Romanesque style. The parish is composed mostly of Volga Germans with a sizable number of Irish and Austrian parishioners. This church is one of the more impressive churches in Ellis county, in the town that was the boyhood home of Walter P. Chrysler.
