Image #'s A58-241, 242; While visiting in Kansas City, Kansas, I captured this image of the White Church Christian Church.   The year was 1832, Andrew Jackson, also known as "Old Hickory" was the seventh president of the United States.   The original church at this site, near a spring in a beautiful grove of trees was built from logs measuring about forty by sixty feet and the frame was black walnut.   The church was painted white, and the Indians referred to it as the "White Church."   It is from that beginning that the entire area became known as White Church, Kansas.   Since it's beginning over 170 years ago; 66 pastors have served at White Church Christian Church.   The photo to the right is just one of the church's 21 beautiful stained glass windows.
